Child Sponsorship is a unique experience that allows sponsors to develop a one-to-one relationship with a child living in poverty in Lao PDR. Sponsors make monthly contributions from countries such as Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom that enables children in their community to rise out of poverty.

World Vision has over 55 years experience in helping children worldwide and its sponsorship program has been in Lao PDR since 2003.

Today, over 7,000 children are sponsored through World Vision?s projects in Lao PDR. As a result, these children and their communities are benefiting from better education, health care, basic infrastructure, and income-generating opportunities.

How Sponsorship Changes Lives

Child sponsorship funds World Vision Area Development Programs (ADP) in Lao PDR, which serves as our long-term commitment (10-15 years) to achieve community self-sufficiency.

World Vision ADPs are designed to improve the lives of the poor over the long term, especially for children, by partnering with the community and local government to determine their priority needs and work toward sustainable solutions to improve the community?s quality of life.
