Without the generosity and dedication of our donors, supporters, and staff, many thousands of people in Lao PDR would not know the kind of hope they have today. Children are going to school, their parents have opportunities to build stable livelihoods, and entire communities have access to health care and clean water.  Together, we have helped poor communities protect themselves and become resilient to unpredictable natural events such as floods, droughts, and landslides.

As Lao PDR continues to move toward a market-economy and opens to the outside world, children and their communities are facing increasing dangers. The threatening outbreak of HIV/AIDS and growing cases of human-trafficking are major concerns and with the support of our donors and partners, World Vision is moving quickly to meet the challenges ahead.  

World Vision will continue to partner with the Government of Lao PDR in their pursuit to achieve the UN Millennium Development Goals by 2015 and removing the country from ?Least Developed Country? status by 2020. By partnering with the Government of Lao PDR and local communities, we hope to build a world where children can live without fear and live to their fullest potential.
